Indonesia is located in a very active spot for natural disasters. It is located on the edges of the Pacific, Eurasian, and Australian tectonic plates, which makes seismic and volcanic activity much more frequent. The climate of Indonesia is also very strange as it is located on the equator, so they can experience flooding, or the other extreme, droughts. Because of the seismic activity, they are also susceptible to tsunamis, one which hit in 2004 after an earthquake. The human interests which may be at risk would be their lives, seeing as over 150,000 people died after the tsunami that hit. Homes would be at high risk if an earthquake were to occur. If one of the volcanoes were to erupt, the people would be at a tremendous risk because not only could homes be destroyed and lives lost, but the pollution from the volcano would last. Land that is essential to their lives may also be lost or damaged, making the way of life harder for those who own the land.
