Indonesia is one of the countries that has the most physical processes due to its location on the Pacific Ocean's "ring of fire". This country is also located at where the Eurasian plate, the Pacific, and Indian-Australian Plate constantly move causing earthquakes. There were 644 physical processes that occurred in 2010 that include: floods, landslides, earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic eruptions. Several earthquakes even created devastating tsunamis. One of the worst disasters was a 8.9 earthquake and a tsunami that killed 200,000 people and left 1 million people homeless. The First Lady ,Ani Yudhoyono had once said,"due to its geography, Indonesia is vulnerable to disasters and therefore they must be prepared for that." After numerous of disasters the president emphasized the importance of the quick response unit to give emergency response.
